Peanut Blossoms - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1-3/4 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1-1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. brown sugar
48 chocolate candy kisses
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. peanut butter
2 Tbsp. milk
1 egg
additional sugar for coating

Preparation

Combine flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, shortening, peanut butter, milk, vanilla and egg in a bowl; blend until stiff.
Shape into 1 inch balls; roll in extra sugar.
Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
Immediately top each cookie with chocolate kiss; pressing down firmly so cookies cracks around edges, remove from cookie sheet.
Let cool.
