7 Layer Overnight Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, washed, patted dry and torn
    1 large green pepper, sliced
    1 pkg. frozen peas (uncooked)
    3-inch stalks chopped celery
    1 large Bermuda red onion, sliced
    1 pt. Hellmann's mayonnaise (frost like a cake; real tight but close to sides)
Preparation
    Spread in a 13 x 9-inch pan.
    Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of sugar on top of mayonnaise.
    Sprinkle one 3 ounce can Romano cheese over sugar and mayonnaise.
    Cover tight and refrigerate for 12 hours. Just before serving, add 2 or 3 small sliced tomatoes, 2 sliced hard-boiled eggs and, if desired, bacon pieces (or bacon bits) and toss.
    This should be made the day before serving and refrigerated.
    Serves 18 to 20.
