Royal Icing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 large egg whites
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 (16 oz.) box powdered sugar
Preparation
    Combine egg whites and cream of tartar in a large mixing bowl. Beat at medium speed of electric mixer until frothy.
    Gradually add sugar; mix well.
    Beat for 5 to 7 minutes or until mixture is stiff.
    Yield:
    about 2 cups.
