Asparagus Almondine - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (1 lb.) cans green asparagus
    1 can cream of mushroom soup
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 c. American cheese, grated
    1 c. bread crumbs
    4 Tbsp. margarine, melted
    1/2 c. blanched almonds
Preparation
    Drain asparagus, reserving liquid.
    Lay asparagus in 9 x 13-inch casserole.
    Mix soup with 1/2 cup asparagus liquid, salt and pepper; pour over asparagus.
    Sprinkle with cheese.
    Combine bread crumbs and margarine; sprinkle over all.
    Dot with almonds. Bake for 45 minutes at 300\u00b0.
    Serves 8.
