Dill Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    9 c. cold water
    1 c. canning salt
    2 flowers of dill, per quart
    1 green chilli pepper, per quart
    3 c. white vinegar
    1/2 tsp powdered alum, per quart
    1 clove garlic, per quart
Preparation
    Clean cucumbers and wash. Pack in clean jars. Add alum, dill and garlic. In a large kettle, heat the water and vinegar. Bring to a boil. Pour over cucumbers in jar. Seal and process in a hot water bath for 15 minutes
    per quart.
