Santa'S Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/3 c. cocoa
    dash of salt
    2/3 c. water
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Butter the sides of a heavy 2-quart pan.
    In it combine sugar, cocoa, salt, water and butter.
    Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils.
    Cook to soft ball stage (234\u00b0), stirring only if necessary.
    Remove from heat and cool to lukewarm (110\u00b0), without stirring.
    Add vanilla.
    Beat vigorously until fudge becomes very thick and starts to gloss.
    Quickly stir in nuts and spread in buttered pan.
    Cut when firm.
