Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

6 qt. medium cucumbers, thinly sliced
6 medium white onions, thinly sliced
3/4 c. salt
2 c. water
1 qt. vinegar
4 c. sugar
3 tsp. celery seed
3 tsp. mustard seed
ice
Preparation

Put cucumbers, onions and ice in a large bowl or pan; sprinkle with salt.
Let stand for 3 hours.
Combine water, sugar, vinegar, celery seed and mustard seed; bring to a boil.
Boil for 3 minutes.
Take cucumbers out of salt water and add to the spice mixture.
Bring to a boil (do not boil).
Pack in jars.
