Quick Buttermilk Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 to 4 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    2 pkg. dry yeast
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 1/4 c. buttermilk
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. shortening
Preparation
    In a large bowl combine 1 1/2 cups flour, yeast, sugar, salt and soda.
    Mix well.
    In a saucepan heat buttermilk, water and shortening until warm.
    Add to flour mixture.
    By hand, gradually stir in enough remaining flour to make a firm dough.
    Knead on floured surface until smooth and elastic (about 5 minutes).
    Place in a greased bowl, turning to grease top.
    Cover and let rise in a warm place until light and doubled in size (about 20 minutes).
