Cherry-Pecan Dessert - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (16 oz.) can pitted tart red cherries, drained (save the liquid for the sauce recipe)
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 egg, beaten until thick and lemony
    1 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 tsp. almond extract
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Combine dry ingredients.
    Add 2 tablespoons of mix to the cherries.
    Add the sugar to the beaten egg and beat for 5 more minutes.
    Stir in dry ingredients, butter, almond extract and cherries.
