Never Fail Meringue - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    4 Tbsp. cold water
    3 egg whites
    1/2 c. boiling water
    6 or 7 Tbsp. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Dissolve cornstarch in cold water in small pan, adding boiling water.
    Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until clear; set aside to cool.
    Beat egg whites until frothy, add salt.
    On high speed gradually add sugar until peaks form.
    Add vanilla. Gradually add cooled cornstarch mixture, beating as you add it. Beat until peaks form.
    Pile on pie.
    Bake at 300` until lightly brown.
