Hamburger Vegetable Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 c. diced potatoes
    1 c. diced carrots
    1 c. diced celery
    1/2 c. rice
    2 (No. 1) cans tomatoes (4 c.)
    3 c. water
    1/2 tsp. basil
    1/4 tsp. thyme
    1 bay leaf
Preparation
    Fry ground beef and onion together; drain fat.
    Add all remaining ingredients.
    Bring to a boil; cover.
    Simmer 1 hour.
