Raisin Walnut Cookies - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. water
1 c. shortening
2 eggs, light beaten
3 1/2 c. plain flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
2 c. raisins
1 3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
Preparation

Combine raisins and water in a small saucepan; bring to a boil. Cook for 3 minutes. Remove from heat; let cool (do not drain). In a mixing bowl, cream shortening; gradually add sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Combine dry ingredients in separate bowl; add to creamed mixture and blend thoroughly. Stir in nuts and raisins. Drop by teaspoonfuls 2-inches apart onto greased baking sheet. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 to 14 minutes. Do not overbake. Makes about 6 dozen.
