Scalloped Oysters - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    butter
    1 2/3 c. crushed saltines, divided
    2 pt. oysters with 1/2 c. of their liquor, divided
    salt and pepper
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg, divided
    2/3 c. heavy cream, divided
    1 c. crushed saltines, buttered
    Tabasco sauce
Preparation
    Butter 2-quart baking dish.
    Cover the bottom with 1/3 of plain saltines.
    Add a layer of half the oysters, and season with salt, pepper and 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg.
    Add 1/4 cup oyster liquor and 1/3 cup cream.
    Add another 1/3 of the cracker crumbs and dot with butter.
    Add the remaining oysters, the seasonings and finally the remaining plain cracker crumbs.
    Top with the buttered crushed saltines, the remaining 1/4 cup oyster liquor and 1/3 cup heavy cream.
    Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
    Dash Tabasco over all.
    Bake in a 375\u00b0 oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until brown on top.
