Date Balls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. chopped dates
    1 egg
    2 c. Rice Krispies
    1 stick oleo
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
    1 tsp. vanilla
    coconut
Preparation
    Melt butter.
    Add sugar, beaten egg and dates.
    Cook slowly for 10 minutes.
    Remove from heat.
    Add vanilla, nuts and Rice Krispies and mix well; let cool.
    Shape into balls and roll in coconut.
    Place on waxed paper.
