Epicurean Beef - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. beef chuck or stewing beef, cut in 2-inch chunks
    1 c. California Burgundy or other red dinner wine
    2 (10 1/2 oz.) cans condensed beef consomme
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    2 medium size onions, sliced
    1/2 c. fine, dry bread crumbs
    1/2 c. sifted flour
Preparation
    Combine beef, wine, consomme, salt, pepper and onions in casserole.
    Mix bread crumbs with flour and stir into meat. Cover and bake in a slow oven (300\u00b0) for about 3 hours or until beef is tender.
    Serve over rice or noodles of your choice with a tossed salad and fresh, hot French bread for a delicious, hearty \"feel good\" meal.
    Makes 6 servings.
