French Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. dry yeast
    2 1/2 cups warm water
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    1 Tbsp. salt
    6 cups flour
    2 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Dissolve dry yeast in 1/2 cup water.
    In a large bowl combine dissolved yeast, rest of water, shortening, sugar and salt.
    Add flour a little at a time. When all flour has been added, knead well.
    Let rise. Turn onto floured board and knead again. Divide in half. Form two long loaves.
    You can use a French bread pan or cookie sheet. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 to 60 minutes.
