Chili Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 doz. tomatoes
    3 green peppers
    3 onions
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 qt. vinegar
    2 level Tbsp. salt
    1 level Tbsp. ground cloves
    1 level Tbsp. nutmeg
    1 level Tbsp. ginger
    1 level Tbsp. allspice
Preparation
    Scald and peel tomatoes; cut them in small pieces and put with all other ingredients into a granite saucepan.
    Cook very slowly for three hours and then can and seal.
