Surprise Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    small can crushed pineapple, undrained
    4 tsp. sugar
    1 (3 oz.) pkg. apricot jello (dry)
    1 (9 oz.) carton Cool Whip
    1 3/4 c. buttermilk
    chopped pecans (optional)
Preparation
    Mix first 3 ingredients in small saucepan.
    Bring to boil. As soon as it boils, set off stove and let cool for 15 minutes. In large bowl, mix together Cool Whip and buttermilk (surprise!). Pour in jello mixture and stir good.
    Chill.
