Barley V-8 Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground round beef
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    1 large can V-8 juice
    2 cans cream of celery soup
    1 tsp. sugar or 3 pkg. Sweet 'N Low
    2 to 3 bay leaves (remove after cooking)
    3 lb. cans Veg-All
    1/2 tsp. marjoram
    2 cans water (in soup cans)
    1/4 tsp. garlic salt
    pepper to taste
    1 c. barley
Preparation
    Slowly boil all ingredients, except barley, for 15 to 20 minutes.
    Then simmer for 1/2 hour or more.
    During last 20 minutes of simmering, add barley.
