Cornbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. cornmeal
1 tsp. salt
1 c. plain flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
1 1/2 to 2 c. buttermilk
2 1/2 Tbsp. shortening
Preparation

Mix dry ingredients together well.
Heat shortening in skillet. Beat eggs and pour buttermilk into beaten eggs.
Pour this mixture into dry ingredients and mix well.
Pour shortening in this batter, mix it good.
Pour back into hot skillet.
Bake in a 400\u00b0 oven until well browned.
Flip bread over in skillet to sweat it.
Turn oven off and put bread back into it for a few minutes.
