Lentil Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground chuck
    1 c. dried lentils, rinsed
    1 c. diced carrots
    1 c. chopped celery
    1 c. chopped cabbage
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    6 c. tomato juice
    4 c. water
Preparation
    Cook ground chuck in 6-quart Dutch oven.
    Stir in all other ingredients.
    Cook over high heat until mixture comes to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer, uncovered, 1 1/2 hours or until lentils are tender.
