Lemon Dessert - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. butter, melted
40 soda crackers, crushed
4 egg whites
1 c. sugar
pinch of salt
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1 can lemon pie filling
Cool Whip
Preparation

Mix together melted butter and soda crackers. Press into the bottom of a 9 x 13 pan. Beat egg whites until foamy, then gradually add sugar, salt and cream of tartar as in making a meringue. Spread on top of crackers. Bake 20 minutes at 350\u00b0. Cool. Spread lemon pie filling over meringue. If not enough, you may add more filling. Top with Cool Whip. Refrigerate until served. Serves 12 to 16.
