Kahlua - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. boiling water
    4 c. sugar
    2 oz. instant coffee
    3 to 3 1/2 c. vodka
    1 large vanilla bean
Preparation
    Blend sugar and boiling water until dissolved. Remove from heat and add coffee.
    Cool and add vodka.
    Pour into 1/2 gallon bottle.
    Add vanilla bean (break up). Age at least 3 weeks with tight closure.
    Shake bottle occasionally to preserve setting.
