Seven Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, torn into small pieces
    1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
    1 pkg. frozen green peas, cooked and cooled
    8 slices bacon, fried and crumbled
    1/4 c. chopped bell pepper (optional)
    chopped onion
    mayonnaise
    sugar
Preparation
    In a 9 x 12-inch dish, layer in order:
    lettuce, onion, green pepper and peas.
    Spread mayonnaise evenly over layers and sprinkle with sugar.
    Lay cheese and bacon on top.
    Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate 24 hours.
    Do not stir!
