Ingredients

1/2 c. margarine
1 c. sugar
1 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. milk
1 (1 lb.) can red sour pitted cherries
1/2 c. sugar
Preparation

In 9-inch square pan, melt butter or margarine.
In bowl, combine next 4 ingredients.
Mix until well blended.
Pour over melted butter; do not stir.
Pour undrained cherries over batter; do not stir.
Sprinkle 1/2 cup sugar over cherries; do not stir. Bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 hour.
(May use other canned fruits in their own natural juices.)
