Ingredients

1 c. butter (2 sticks)
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 1/2 c. sugar
4 eggs
2 1/4 c. flour (unsifted)
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
Preparation

Cream butter and cheese in large mixing bowl with electric mixer.
Beat in sugar gradually, until light and fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Stir flour with baking powder and salt.
Stir with vanilla and chocolate chips into butter mixture.
Bake in greased 8-inch tube pan in preheated 300\u00b0 oven for 1 hour or until top springs back when lightly touched with finger.
Cool cake in pan for 10 minutes. Turn out onto rack and cool completely.
Glaze if you wish or sprinkle with powdered sugar.
