Ingredients

1 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. sugar
3 eggs
5 tbsp. melted butter or salad oil
1 1/2 c. milk
Preparation

Place first four dry ingredients in a large bowl.
Separate yolks and whites of eggs into separate bowls.
Beat egg yolks well, then add melted butter or oil.
Pour liquid ingredients into dry ingredients.
Combine with a few swift strokes.
The batter will have a pebbled look.
Beat until stiff, but not dry.
Add the three egg whites and fold into batter until barely blended.
