Ingredients

10 Tbsp. unsalted butter, cut in 10 pieces (room temperature)
1 c. sugar
1 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
6 c. fresh blackberries
1 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
Preparation

Mix 8 tablespoons of butter and 1/2 cup sugar until light and fluffy.
Add flour, baking powder, salt and milk.
Batter will be stiff.
In a large bowl, gently toss berries with remaining sugar, cornstarch and lemon juice.
Pour into buttered 11 x 7-inch baking dish.
Dot with remaining butter. Spoon batter over top of berries, covering them as much as possible.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes or until pastry is light brown.
Serve with ice cream.
