Boiled Custard - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. milk
    1 doz. eggs
    4 c. sugar
Preparation
    Beat eggs and sugar together.
    Add 2 cups milk.
    Heat remainder of milk in a double boiler to just below boiling temperature.
    Add the egg mixture and continue cooking 30 minutes, stirring constantly.
    Strain.
    If custard curdles beat with a mixer.
    Chill.
