Refrigerator Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. sliced cucumbers
    2 large onions
    1 qt. vinegar
    3 c. sugar
    1/4 c. salt
    1 tsp. mustard
    1 tsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Simmer vinegar, sugar, salt, mustard and celery seed for 5 minutes.
    Pour over cucumbers and onions and put in refrigerator. Let set 7 days before eating.
    (If you want crisper pickles, soak cucumbers
    first overnight in 1/2 cup lime and water to cover. Rinse well, then follow recipe.)
