Foundation Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. sifted cake flour
2 1/2 tsp. double acting powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. Carnation evaporated milk, diluted with 1/3 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream softened butter thoroughly in deep bowl.
Add sugar, gradually beating, until the mixture is fluffy and light (like whipped cream).
Add eggs to creamed butter and sugar.
Beat until light.
Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with liquid to creamed butter and sugar.
Begin and end with dry ingredients.
Add flavoring and blend thoroughly.
