Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 to 2 c. bacon ends
    4 to 6 stalks celery
    1 large onion
    2 qt. milk
    garlic powder
    1/2 c. flour
    2 lb. frozen hash browns or 8 cubed fresh potatoes
Preparation
    Brown
    onion,
    bacon and celery.
    Add flour and pint of water to\tform
    a
    roux.\t(Calorie counters may eliminate the roux.) The
    roux may be frozen for later use.
    Cook the potatoes
    in about
    a
    pint
    of\twater; add roux, milk and garlic powder. Pepper and salt to taste.
    Heat and serve.
