Shearing Cake(Actually A Wonderfully Flavored, Easy To Make Quick Bread.) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 3/4 c. unsifted flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    2/3 c. butter or margarine
    1 c. packed brown sugar
    1/4 c. white sugar
    1 1/2 Tbsp. grated lemon or orange peel
    2 eggs
    3/4 c. milk
Preparation
    Sift flour, baking powder and nutmeg in large bowl.
    Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
    Mix in sugars and lemon peel.
    In small bowl beat eggs and milk.
    Add to dry ingredients.
    Mix with wooden spoon just until flour mixture is moistened.
    Pour into greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan and bake in preheated 350\u00b0 oven for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean.
    Serve slightly warm and thinly sliced.
