Chicken Creole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. shortening (Crisco)
    1 Tbsp. flour
    2 small onions, chopped
    garlic (optional)
    1 medium green pepper, chopped
    2 tsp. fresh parsley, chopped
    2 c. canned tomatoes
    3/4 c. chopped celery
    1/4 c. mushrooms, chopped
    2 c. diced, cooked chicken or turkey
    2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Place shortening, flour, onions, green pepper and parsley in large skillet.
    Cook until onions are brown; add tomatoes, chopped celery, mushrooms, salt and pepper.
    Add cooked chicken and cover; cook slowly for 1 hour.
    One half hour before done, add Worcestershire sauce.
    Serve over cooked rice and sprinkle with chow mein noodles or serve separately.
    Serves 6.
