Grandma'S Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 1/2 c. sugar
    1 (12 oz.) can Carnation evaporated milk
    2 sticks butter
    18 oz. pkg. chocolate chips
    1 c. chopped nuts
    2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cook milk and sugar (6 to 8 minutes) to soft ball stage.
    Pour over butter and chocolate chips.
    Add vanilla.
    Beat until creamy. Pour in greased pan.
    Keep in refrigerator.
    Makes 4 pounds.
