Crystal Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    3 c. sugar
    5 eggs (1 c.)
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    1 c. buttermilk
    3 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream the shortening.
    Add sugar; continue creaming.
    Add eggs and vanilla; beat well.
    Sift flour, soda and salt; add alternately with buttermilk.
    Begin and end with flour.
    Pour into a greased and floured tube pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
