Plum Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. raisins
    1 c. currants
    1/4 c. lard
    1 c. sugar
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. boiling water
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Cook raisins and currants until soft and drain.
    Mix raisins, currants and lard with 1 cup boiling water; add your spices, and sugar.
    Dissolve soda in a little hot water.
    Add flour.
    Place in greased steamer and steam 3 hours.
    Serve with Vanilla Sauce.
