Applesauce Cupcakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. soda
pinch of salt
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
2 eggs
1/2 c. soft shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. applesauce
1/2 c. chocolate chips
nuts (if desired)

Preparation

Sift dry ingredients together.
Add eggs and shortening; mix. Add vanilla and applesauce; mix again.
Stir in chocolate chips and nuts, if desired.
Bake in muffin cups at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
