Escalloped Tomatoes(Servings: 6 To 8) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (No. 2) can whole tomatoes (3 1/2 c.)
    1 small onion, chopped fine
    1/4 c. butter
    1 1/4 c. dry bread cubes
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Saute onion in butter; add bread cubes and sugar.
    Cook slowly; stir in tomatoes and seasonings.
    Place mixture in buttered shallow casserole and bake for 45 minutes at 350\u00b0.
