Clifford Tea Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. brown sugar
    1 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    3 1/2 c. flour or enough to make good and stiff
    1 tsp. soda, sifted with flour
    1 c. nut meats
    1 c. raisins (if desired)
Preparation
    Cream together the brown sugar and shortening.
    Add the remaining ingredients.
    Form two long, thin rolls about 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
    Let stand in refrigerator for a while.
    Turn out; slice thin.
    Bake in a 400\u00b0 oven.
