Ingredients

2 Tbsp. margarine
1/4 c. cornstarch
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. milk
2 egg yolks, slightly beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
precooked pie shell
1/2 c. coconut
4 egg whites
6 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation

Melt butter; blend in cornstarch, sugar and salt.
Gradually add milk.
Heat to boiling over low heat; stir constantly.
Stir into slightly beaten egg yolks.
Return to heat and cook 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
Add vanilla.
Cool.
Makes 2 cups. Sprinkle coconut in bottom of pie shell.
Add custard.
