Pineapple Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box yellow pudding cake mix
    1 large can crushed pineapple
    1 c. sugar
    1 large box instant vanilla pudding
    1 (12 oz.) container Cool Whip
    coconut (optional)
Preparation
    Prepare cake according to directions on box.
    Pour into a 13 x 10-inch pan.
    Combine crushed pineapple and sugar in boiler; cook for 5 minutes.
    When cake is done, use fork to punch holes in the cake.
    Pour pineapple-sugar mixture over cake.
    Mix vanilla pudding as directed on box.
    Pour over cake.
    Cover with Cool Whip and sprinkle coconut on top.
    Refrigerate until ready to serve.
