Speedy Pickled Peaches - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (29 oz.) can peach halves
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. cider vinegar
    1 short cinnamon stick
    whole cloves
Preparation
    Drain peach halves; save 1 cup of syrup.
    In medium saucepan, combine syrup, sugar, vinegar and cinnamon stick.
    Stud each peach half with 3 or 4 cloves.
    Add to mixture over medium heat and heat to boiling.
    Lower heat and simmer 3 to 4 minutes.
    Cover and refrigerate.
    Serve with meat, chicken or fish.
    (Prepare as before, but use a 29 ounce can of pear halves and syrup instead of peaches.)
