Southern Corn Bread - cooking recipe

2 c. self-rising cornmeal
1/2 c. flour (plain or self-rising)
2 c. buttermilk
2 or 3 Tbsp. bacon grease (shortening)
2 Tbsp. sugar
2 eggs
Preparation

Preheat oven to 450\u00b0. Rub iron skillet with bacon grease. Heat skillet. Mix all ingredients in mixing bowl; stir well. Pour mixture into hot skillet and bake about 30 minutes or until sides look brown and crispy.
