Browned Chicken And Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 or 4 lb. hen
    pepper to taste
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    In large pot, place hen and cover with water and seasonings (salt and pepper to taste).
    Boil for approximately 1 hour or until tender.
    Remove meat from pot, cool and debone chicken.
    Skim fat from chicken broth; set aside.
    Should have enough broth for 1 1/2 cups; if not, add hot water andl.
    Add flour, salt and fat from chicken broth and enough broth to have dough consistency of pie dough.
    Roll out on floured board about as thin as pie crust; cut in strips and let dry out while making gravy for dumplings.
