Crisp Cucumber Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. cucumbers, cut in slices or sticks
    2 c. pickling lime
    2 gallons water
    8 c. white distilled vinegar
    8 c. white sugar
    1 Tbsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. mixed pickling spices
Preparation
    Wash and cut cucumbers; soak overnight in lime and water. Next morning wash them in cold water and soak 3 more hours. Combine vinegar, sugar and spices, dissolving well. Pour over cucumbers and soak 5-6 hours or overnight. Then boil in liquid until transparent. Fill jars, seal and process.
