Lemon Sauce Or Nutmeg Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    2 c. water
    1/4 c. butter
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    2 tsp. vanilla or lemon extract
Preparation
    In saucepan, combine sugar and cornstarch.
    Gradually stir in water.
    Stir constantly.
    Boil for 1 minute.
    Add butter and nutmeg to taste.
    If you want lemon sauce, use 2 teaspoons lemon extract.
    If nutmeg, use 2 teaspoons vanilla extract.
    Serve warm over pound cake or ice cream.
