Beef Barley Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. very lean ground beef
    5 c. water
    1 large can or 2 small (14 1/2 oz.) Italian stewed tomatoes
    1 large diced onion
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. sliced carrots
    1 c. chopped green pepper or 1/2 c. green and 1/2 c. red pepper
    2/3 c. barley
Preparation
    Brown meat well and scrape up brown bits while adding water, then add rest of ingredients.
    Adjust seasonings.
    Cooks in 1 hour.
    Even better the second day.
