Date Sticks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. melted butter
    1/2 c. nut meats, broken
    2 c. dates, pitted and finely cut
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs, well beaten
    1 Tbsp. hot water
Preparation
    Sift flour once; add baking powder and salt gradually to eggs; add butter.
    Beat in dates and nuts.
    Add flour alternately with hot water, beating well.
    Divide mixture into two greased pans, 8 x 8 x 2-inches, spreading batter thin.
    Bake in slow oven, 325\u00b0, for 30 to 35 minutes.
    Cool; cut in strips, 2 3/4 x 1-inch. Remove from pans and roll in powdered sugar.
    Makes about 48.
