Lasagna - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. smoked sausage
1/2 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, chopped
2 Tbsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. basil leaves
1/2 tsp. fennel seed
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 c. chopped fresh parsley
4 c. canned tomatoes, undrained
12 oz. can tomato paste
3/4 lb. lasagna noodles (12)
1 lb. Ricotta or cottage cheese
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 lb. Mozzarella cheese, grated
3/4 c. Parmesan cheese
1/2 c. water
Preparation

Remove sausage from casing.
Chop the meat.
In large saucepan, saute sausage, beef, onion and garlic until brown.
Add sugar, 1 tablespoon salt, basil, fennel, pepper and half of parsley.
Mix well.
Add tomatoes, tomato paste and 1/2 cup water. Bring to a boil and simmer covered for 1 1/2 hours.
